CELEBRATING A DECADE OF DESIGN

One of Cleveland’s hidden gems, Rustbelt Reclamation is the story of a business reinvented, much like its beloved hometown, with a vision as ambitious as it is unique. Celebrating its tenth year as Rustbelt Reclamation, the company has a remarkable history spanning over 50 years. Originating as the Interior Products Co., specializing in designing and constructing bold custom designs for elaborate boardroom tables and striking reception desks, the company established a strong reputation among commercial customers primarily in the Great Lakes Region. This extensive knowledge contributed to their expertise and craftsmanship, elevating them as a trusted name in the furniture industry.

In 2013 the new owners of Interior Products Co., inspired by examples of urban revitalization, sustainability, and reclaiming US manufacturing, repositioned the business to unlock its untapped potential and Rustbelt Reclamation (RBR) was born. Rustbelt expanded its reach into new markets such as hospitality, stadiums, multi-family developments, senior-living facilities, and luxury residential projects, playing a significant role in promoting the resurgence of manufacturing in the United States. Under the guidance of owner Megan November, Rustbelt has also partnered with Heirloom Design to support a circular economy that prioritizes natural materials, customization, and a thriving maker community.

Today, Rustbelt is nationally recognized for its superior design aesthetics, exceptional woodworking expertise, and environmental stewardship. It remains committed to providing excellent service and products to customers who share their values of sustainability, unique materials and designs, and US-made products built to stand the test of time. The company has thoughtfully evolved by combining heritage with innovation, blending the ethos and attention to detail found in the small artisan workshops of the past with a thoroughly modern, scalable manufacturing model. They are constantly striving to expand their capabilities and closely watching trends in the worlds of art, interior design and architecture to deliver exceptional quality products. Every project undertaken by RBR is completely custom and unique, showcasing their dedication to craftsmanship and ensuring that their pieces far surpass any assembly line furniture found in a catalog.

Rustbelt strongly believes that a healthy company culture is just as important as the bottom line. Their team is highly skilled, collaborative, and passionate about their work. Beyond just coworkers, camaraderie and friendship in and outside of work fosters an incredible atmosphere where employees want the best for each other and the company. By prioritizing employee well-being and fostering strong teamwork, Rustbelt creates an environment where individuals can thrive and enjoy both the work they do and the relationships they build with their teammates.

The Rustbelt Logo: A Part of History

The Steelmark logo was unveiled in January 1960, marking the first time that steel has been merchandised industry-wide at the consumer level.

We pared the Steelmark down to a single sleek and minimal asteroid.

Steelmark turned inside out to symbolize the transition from Steelbelt to Rustbelt.

As an American company manufacturing within the United States utilizing locally sourced, upcycled materials, we naturally took symbolism from the country’s main symbol The Flag of the United States of America.

Flag symbolism integration with the reinterpreted Steelmark.

12 states were determined to have “Rustbelt Cities” most affected by urban decay brought on by the decline of the manufacturing industry.

Each of the 12 states are represented as bold red stripes and integrated symmetrically with the reinterpreted Steelmark symbol.

Design elements were flipped on their side to symbolize changing the narrative and putting a positive “spin” on the Rustbelt moniker.

Final details included a round badge to identify our company name and beloved hometown
