Rustbelt Reclamation + Heirloom

As a part of our continued efforts in environmental stewardship, we are partnered with Heirloom to help ensure high quality furniture is passed on so it never ends up in a landfill!

As an Heirloom Design Partner, we are offering our clients an Heirloom certified product as an add-on. This certification ensures that well-built furniture will not end up in a landfill. When a user decides to part with an Heirloom certified product, the piece will be picked-up, refinished, and reintroduced into the market. Throughout this cycle its journey is recorded and told on Heirloom's website, for a continuing story that is written across its lifetime.

What are we doing?

Heirloom creates individual QR tags for each piece made in this partnership that we install discretely. Every item has its own webpage with its story and a mapping of its journey across different locations. Here are examples of Heirloom certified pieces from our BDNY booth.

The fee to add Heirloom certification is 10% of the product cost (one-time fee). The certification and service of Heirloom ensures that product(s) no longer in-service will be picked-up, refinished, and available for re-sale. Subsequent owners will receive the same service.
